Privacy notice

This notice explains how Rentkept Landlord Services ("Rentkept", "I") uses the information you give through this website. Rentkept is the controller of that information. Questions or requests: hello@rentkept.uk.

What I collect

• The quote form: your name, email address, the property's postcode, the service you're interested in and anything you write in the message.
• The licence checker: the postcode and, if you add them, the property details you type. The checker does not ask for your name or contact details.
• Technical data: like any website, the servers that host this site receive your IP address and browser details when you visit, and use them to deliver the page and protect it from abuse.

Why, and the legal basis

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: steps you ask for before entering a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• To answer the licence checker: my legitimate interest in offering a free, useful tool.
• To keep the site secure and stop automated abuse: my legitimate interest in running a safe website.

I don't sell your information, use it for advertising or add you to a mailing list.

Who else handles it

• Cloudflare hosts the website, delivers quote-form messages to my inbox, runs the "are you human?" check (Turnstile) on the forms and counts visits (Web Analytics, no cookies).
• Google Analytics and Ads, only if you accept cookies (see below).
• Google (Google Workspace) holds my email, so quote-form messages are stored there.
• Anthropic provides the AI model that writes the licence checker's answer: the postcode, ward and any property details you type are sent to it to produce your answer.
• postcodes.io, a free public service, looks up the council and ward for the postcode you enter.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long I keep it

Quote-form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and for up to two years afterwards in case you come back, unless you become a client, when client records are kept as the law requires. Checker questions are not stored by this website.

Analytics and cookies

• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to this site (pages viewed, where visitors came from, country and device type) without cookies and without identifying or following individual visitors.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement are used only if you click Accept on this site's cookie banner. They then set cookies to measure visits and which adverts lead to enquiries. If you click Reject, or don't answer, no Google script loads. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of the home page.
• The Turnstile check on the forms may use strictly necessary storage to tell people from bots.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used, by emailing hello@rentkept.uk. If you're unhappy with the reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
